ITHACA, NEW YORK – August 26, 2024 — The Ramos Research Institute (RRI) is proud to announce the promotion of Josephine Hall to the position of Junior Researcher for the upcoming academic year. Josephine, a senior at San Diego State University majoring in International Security and Conflict Resolution, has been a valuable member of the RRI team, contributing significantly during her tenure as a Research Assistant.

Josephine's academic background and professional experiences have uniquely positioned her to excel in her new role. During her summer internship with RRI, she collaborated with her a fellow intern on a project examining how the personal motivations and interests of far-right leaders influence their policy decisions and leadership behaviors.

In her new role as Junior Researcher, Josephine will lead a project titled "How Aid to Israel Defies the Partisan Divide of American Politics," which aims to explore the bipartisan nature of U.S. aid to Israel despite growing public demands to cease such support. The project will analyze the perspectives of average Americans from both major political parties and examine how their views align with the agendas of the parties themselves.

"We are thrilled to see Josephine take on this new challenge," said Alejandro Ramos, Executive Director of the Ramos Research Institute. "Her dedication, analytical skills, and passion for understanding complex global issues make her an invaluable asset to our team. We look forward to the insights she will bring to her research and the contributions she will make to our ongoing efforts to influence public policy and discourse."

Josephine's promotion is a testament to her commitment to her field of study and her outstanding performance during her internship at RRI. Her previous experience includes an internship with the Belgrade Centre for Security Policy in Serbia, where she contributed to peacebuilding research and supported the publication of reports on relevant security issues.

"I had a great experience with my internship at RRI this summer and I am excited to continue my involvement with the institute this year," said Josephine Hall regarding her promotion.

Josephine's work as a Junior Researcher will further enhance RRI's mission to provide thoughtful, data-driven analysis on pressing global issues. Her research on U.S. aid to Israel is expected to offer valuable insights into the bipartisan nature of foreign policy decisions and their impact on the 2024 presidential election.
